Philippe

Philippe Mougne was born in Paris, France, where he studied drawing, sculpture, as well as interior design and decoration at L’Ecole Boulle.

After his first job as a contemporary furniture designer, he relocated to Aix en Provence to create original pieces of furniture and decorative art.

In 1995, he relocated in Washington D.C.  Here, building materials inspired him to again take up sculpture.  He made his first pieces using discarded timber and sheet metal picked up at construction sites.

In 2003, Philippe became a member of the Studio Gallery, in Dupont Circle, and the Washington Sculptors Group.  His works have been exhibited in galleries in the Washington D.C. area, and he has been selected to participate in the Foggy Bottom Outdoor Sculpture Exhibits (2008 and 2010).
